The Seaweed Potion is the thirty-second episode of the second season of Sea Princesses.

Synopsis[]

When Tubarina rescues a small, scared shark, she takes it back to the Shark Palace. However, Nip is a very nervous shark, and doesn't want to be touched.

Plot[]

Tubarina frees Nip, a baby shark, from a drifting net he was trapped in, but he is unwilling to let her or anyone else touch him. Taking Nip back to the Shark Palace, Tubarina asks her father how she can help him. When he tells her that giving a young shark back his confidence takes time and patience, Tubarina asks him if there is a quicker way. After consulting a book, the Shark King tells Tubarina that there is a potion he could make, but a red seaweed, which is only found in one place in all of Salacia, is required to make it, so Tubarina sets off with Polvina and Ester to get it.

The girls arrive at the cave where the red seaweed is, but they discover that a barracuda is living in it. After failing to distract it, Polvina suggests to Tubarina that she be nice to it. Tubarina gives the barracuda some food as a gift, but it still chases her away. Polvina tells her that it isn’t going to work the first time, so Tubarina tries again day after day. Eventually, the barracuda only chases Tubarina as far as the bowl of food. The next day, Tubarina returns with more food, reassuring the barracuda that she is no danger to him. When she sees that the barracuda isn’t chasing her, Tubarina takes some of the seaweed and leaves.

Tubarina returns to her father with the seaweed, but she learns that there is no potion; the book that the Shark King was reading was actually a book on sea worms. The Shark King reveals to Tubarina that he was trying to teach her a lesson; she managed to get the seaweed by being patient and caring to the barracuda, which is what she should have done with Nip in the first place. After being disappointed at wasting her time just to learn a lesson, Tubarina realises that Nip is letting her touch him; presumably, he has learned to trust her over time.
