The Forbidden Reef is the seventeenth episode of the second season of Sea Princesses.

Synopsis[]

Tubarina knows the Shark King and Marcello are planning something secretive and she doesn't like to miss out on anything. So when they try to make a quick getaway the next morning, Tubarina and her friends are on their trail.

Plot[]

Tubarina hears her father and Marcello acting suspiciously as she says good night to them. The next morning, after a brief investigation, Tubarina tells Polvina and Ester, who are helping her clean the cellar, that they are headed for the Forbidden Reef. Ester and Tubarina are eager to investigate, while Polvina is somewhat unwilling. After confirming that the Shark King and Marcello were trying to get them out of the way, the girls follow them to the Forbidden Reef.

The Shark King and Marcello are preparing to put up warning signs just outside the reef. Marcello asks his uncle why the Forbidden Reef is forbidden; he is told that there are dangerous things from Dryland there - terrible things that they will never have in Salacia. The two see the girls go into the reef and follow them in.

The girls initially don’t see anything in the Forbidden Reef, then they see all the wrecks around them and realise that it is a Drylander graveyard. The girls decide to leave just as Marcello and the Shark King arrive. As they try looking for them from the tip of a wrecked ship, they somehow manage to fall in.

Hearing their cries for help, the girls go back and find the ship where Marcello and the Shark King are lost trying to find a way out. Tubarina decides to go in, with Polvina and Ester’s help, and find them. Eventually, they do manage to find each other and leave just as the ship tips again, causing a missile from a cupboard to roll up right next to them.

Tubarina, Marcello and the Shark King get out of the ship and quickly leave the Forbidden Reef with Polvina and Ester. The Shark King explains that the reef is a graveyard for all the old Drylander battle carriages; like many other things, fighting is something Drylanders do that they don’t understand. Tubarina wonders what danger was there that they had to leave so quickly; an explosion rocks the area, leading them to realise what it really was.

As they go back, the Shark King promises Tubarina that he will never keep promises from her and Tubarina promises her father that she and her friends will never be trouble for him again. However, everyone doubts the validity of the latter, leading them to laugh.
