Soraia is the Stingray Princess. She is a cheerful and sweet girl who loves to swim and thinks that stingrays are the "coolest fish in the world". She also believes that seeing a stingray swim freely is something fascinating and unforgettable, a fact that few Salacians and Drylanders will disagree with.
Character history[]
In The Gift, the class is doing a project on stingrays and lots of people want to join Soraia's group, given that she is the Stingray Princess. Much to Polvina, Ester and Tubarina's disbelief, Soraia allows Marcello to join her group after he gives her a stingray gift that was actually made by Hugo. When the girls fail to convince Soraia that Marcello is only using her for his own motives, they sabotage Marcello's plan by replacing her stingray gift with a deformed version of it. Soraia discovers the truth alongside a few others and rejects Marcello from her group.
In the books[]
In The Legendary Fish, Tubarina asks Soraia for help when she is unable to find out where baby Rina lived. Soraia and Tubarina have an argument as to whether Rina is a stingray or a shark until they go to Miss Marla and find out that she is actually a shark-ray. They then head to the Shark-Ray Kingdom, where Rina is reunited with her parents.
