Polvina the Teacher is the eleventh episode of the second season of Sea Princesses.

Synopsis[]

Miss Marla asks Polvina to help the dreamy Angelica study for her geometry test.

Plot[]

The girls are about to be late for school again when they encounter Angelica apparently in trouble. When they get to Angelica, they find her looking at a purple reef.

At school, Angelica is spacing out and unable to pay attention in geometry class. Miss Marla asks her if she wants a tutor and Angelica says yes, leading Miss Marla to ask Polvina to teach her, which she accepts. Ester and Tubarina tell Polvina that Angelica can never concentrate, but Polvina insists that it won’t be hard.

At the library, Polvina tries to teach Angelica about polygons, but she gets distracted at the dome. The next day, Angelica was supposed to have a lesson with Polvina, but she forgets it and arrives late. They try to have a lesson again at lunchtime, but some of Angelica’s sweet-lipped friends take her to show her a rock made out like a big head.

Polvina attempts to tutor Angelica at her home. After Angelica gets distracted by Polvina’s room, Polvina takes her to an empty room she prepared. Polvina closes the curtain, but neither of them can see. After turning the light on, Polvina finally gives up. Polvina asks Angelica why she can’t pay attention; she tells her that she finds it hard to concentrate because she likes shapes and figures. Polvina realises something and decides to teach Angelica to look at geometry like she looks at everything around her. She demonstrates what certain shapes look like in shadows and also gets Tentie and his friends to demonstrate what a pentagon looks like.

On the day of the test, Angelica arrives a little late, having stopped to look at a rock that was like a perfect hexakaidecagon. When they get their tests back, with Polvina getting ten out of ten and Ester and Tubarina only passing, they find out that Angelica got ten out of ten as well. Ester asks Polvina how she managed to tutor Angelica; she tells her that instead of getting Angelica to do what she wanted, she did what Angelica wanted instead.

Notes[]

  • Angelica's voice is different compared to her previous appearances in The Carnival and The Angel Fish.
    • Her voice in this episode sounds like that of "Jaune" from Lost.
  • A hexakaidecagon, also known as a hexadecagon, is a polygon with sixteen sides.
